SOL’s longboard retreats are designed to take your surfing to the next level. To ensure that every participant gets enough individual attention from our coach, João Dantas, this retreat has a maximum number of only 8 participants.

Who is this for?

This workshop is suitable for intermediate to advanced longboarders that want to improve their longboard surf skills! The only requirement is that you know how to catch your own waves and that you are familiar with line-up etiquette. We will be a small group of girls so that every student has the chance to get personal feedback and tips.

Whats included?

  • 2 full days of coaching with João Dantas

    2 full days of coaching with João Dantas. We will aim for 2 surf sessions a day, depending on the conditions. Then idea is to have one session that will be filmed and coached from the land. And the second session where João is surfing with us. In the evening we will analyze the videos together.

  • Accomodation

    3 nights of accommodation at the beautiful Jacio Surf House. You will have access to shared bathrooms and showers and you will be within walking distance of the beach! Private room upgrades are available uppon request.

  • Food

    Given the physical intensity of this retreat, we believe that healthy nutrition is a key element. We will prepare us breakfast lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday evening we will have a welcome dinner all together. Monday before leaving we will have breakfast available.

  • Surf photos

    Additionally to the videos we take from the beach for analysis, we will have a professional photographer come and shoot some of our surf sessions. We want to make sure you will have plenty of photos of all the amazing memories you will have from this workshop with SOL.

Where?

Gran Canaria is a fantastic destination for longboard surfing enthusiasts. Located in the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria’s coast consists of long waves, warm water, a variety of surf spots, and a warm and welcoming surfers community.

The island is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, which means it benefits from a consistent supply of swells and waves throughout the year. The island has an abundance of beaches and reef breaks that offer different types of waves and conditions, ensuring that longboarders of all skill levels can find a spot that suits their abilities.

What’s the price?

The price of the Hangten Canary Island retreat is €710. Payable upfront to reserve your spot.

*DISCLAIMER! There will be no surf lessons held inside the water. Our surf sessions will be guided by João Dantas and he will be surfing with us, helping us choose the right spot for the given conditions. However you will not receive any instructions or surf lessons in the water. The coaching will take place outside of the water and with help of the video analysis.
